Join hands with us to patron our Artists-In-Residence, gearing towards their first ever Kamatipura Art Festival!!
In March, two of our participants, Sujatha and Deepa, along with two of our core team members, Neethu and Bani, attended "Jokering Justice - Introduction to Theatre of the Oppressed", at Sambhaavna Institute, Kandbari, Himachal Pradesh.
This is a significant leap and learning for our participants, be it traveling to a new place, being in a workshop with the external community, i.e. theatre practitioners and artists, while battling severe weather and knowledge gaps due to privileged education afforded to the others.
Our participants, especially Sujatha, as expected were quite apprehensive initially, but slowly came out of their defense mechanisms to participate, and eventually lead the village forum theatre performance at Kandbari village. We did run into some challenges with conflicts but it was acknowledged to be a part of the process and decided our next workshop theme, conflict resolution.
Our core team member Neethu, came back as a veteran facilitator, conducting workshop in Bangalore on TOTO, inspired by all her learnings, at a children care Institution.
Haan Hum has reminded all of our participants about their power to self-liberate, and this was a significant step in our journey. Here are some pictures.
